Operations Intern in Safety and Security

About the Team
The intern will work under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Airport Infrastructure within the European Regional Operations, Safety and Security (OSS) team. This role provides an opportunity to gain insights into IATA's contributions to the aviation sector, focusing on critical areas such as airport capacity, passenger facilitation, and airport charges.
Daily Responsibilities
The intern will:
- Assist in understanding and supporting the team's initiatives related to infrastructure and customer experience in the European Region, emphasizing airport capacity and passenger facilitation.
- Engage in daily communications with key industry stakeholders, including airline members, local associations, EUROCONTROL, and airports.
- Collaborate closely with the team to contribute to the development of IATA studies, cost models, and planning documents addressing airport and passenger facilitation challenges.
- Support the airport infrastructure and customer experience teams in various campaign activities, including follow-ups with airports and states.
- Help organize and prepare for Regional Airports Steering group and European Facilitation focus group meetings.
- Provide assistance during various meetings.
- Participate in the creation of position papers.
- Assist with other administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who:
- Are recent graduates or currently pursuing a degree in Aviation Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Possess some knowledge of air navigation, air traffic management, safety operations, and financial analysis.
- Exhibit strong research skills, report writing capabilities, and presentation creation.
- Demonstrate excellent organizational skills, the ability to prioritize tasks, and work effectively in a team setting.
- Show a keen interest in various subjects and are highly motivated.
- Have proficient PC skills, particularly in Microsoft Office applications like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Are fluent in written and spoken English; knowledge of additional languages is advantageous.
