Job Overview

Alight is seeking a skilled Payroll Specialist to support the operational teams in meeting client deadlines while providing exceptional service to clients.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Managers to ensure accurate and timely information for clients.
  • Provide support and guidance for implementations and go-lives.
  • Offer daily functional support to teams to ensure successful payroll delivery.
  • Maintain and update the Client Solution workbook.
  • Develop and enforce Defined Work Instructions (DWIs) and other process documentation.
  • Ensure system maintenance testing and sign-off.
  • Review Statements of Works for clients to ensure fit for purpose.
  • Resolve technical and functional issues escalated from the team.
  • Implement automation, innovation, and continuous improvement programs with Operational Management, Transformation, and Products.
  • Manage the legislation roadmap and upskill the team on upcoming changes.
  • Support Year-End activities.
  • Protect sensitive and confidential information.
  • Identify upsell opportunities.
  • Support Management in resolving client escalations and lessons learned.
  • Upskill and develop team members through training and coaching.
  • Adhere to ALIGHT Security Standards and complete Time Recording accurately.
  • Contribute to team meetings and raise issues to the Operations Manager.
  • Stay up-to-date with ALIGHT HR announcements and communications.
  • Maintain good relationships with lines of business.
  • Participate in assigned projects and activities.

Performance Monitoring Criteria:

  • Adherence to Security and Compliance procedures.
  • 100% attainment of customer SLA agreements.
  • Adherence to quality standards.
  • Adoption of innovation initiatives.
  • Reduction of client escalations through knowledge transfer.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and responsibility.

Required Experience:

  • Strong knowledge of payroll inputs and outputs, including third-party interfaces, timekeeping, tax filing, and benefits.
  • Ability to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Proficient in MS Office tools, such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Flexibility to support a global and fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Self-motivation and willingness to learn.
  • Collaboration and teamwork skills.

Education and Training:

  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related field, such as Accounting, Human Resources, or Business Administration.
  • 3-4 years of experience in payroll administration in an HR consulting, HR outsourcing, or corporate environment.
  • Expert knowledge of payroll processes, practices, and associated legislation.
