About the Role
The Development Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the software and website development at Teenage Helpline. This involves communication with other team leads, managing workload, developing solutions, planning new work with IT Project Managers, and producing user guides and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Work with IT Project Managers to ensure development projects are assigned and worked on
  • Forecast work through creation of development plans
  • Promote best practices such as adhering to the project's software development lifecycle requirements
  • Develop CI/CD pipelines for continuous integration, testing, and delivery
  • Plan, oversee, and monitor team workload
  • Plan initiatives and track associated timelines
  • Manage the Development Team, ensuring work is allocated, managed, and tracked effectively
  • Report key updates and results to the CIO
  • Identify opportunities for new solutions and improvements in the IT infrastructure and operations
  • Oversee the Development Team's involvement with IT projects to ensure software development best practices are upheld, documentation such as data diagrams are created, and relevant testing is completed
  • Advise on the direction of development through clear reasoning and justification
  • Collaborate with UI/UX Designers to deliver on website design

Requirements

  • Enthusiasm and willingness to learn about Teenage Helpline's IT systems and processes
  • Passion for website and software development and how it can create value for Teenage Helpline's operations
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Organisational skills and the ability to ensure set tasks are delivered on time
  • Interest in establishing and adopting new ways of working to engage the Development Team in progressing with objectives
  • Ability to plan and manage time effectively
  • Experience working with others and leading a team
