As a member of our R&D team, you will contribute to the execution of projects involving diverse simulation types in power transformers (thermal, mechanical).
Key Responsibilities- Develop New Technologies and Products: Propose and develop new technologies, products, and processes for both core and shell type transformers, driving innovation and growth in the industry.
- Lead R&D Projects: Manage R&D projects self-driven on time, on budget, and with the required quality, adhering to Hitachi Energy's internal standards and processes.
- Maintain Technical Standards: Maintain existing and develop new technical standards and design tools for transformers, ensuring consistency and excellence in our products.
- Transfer Knowledge: Transfer your knowledge and findings by elaborating reports, specifications, and/or participating in educational programs, promoting knowledge sharing and collaboration.
- Assess Production Processes: Assess production processes and proactively identify gaps and areas of improvement, driving continuous improvement and efficiency.
- Support Troubleshooting: Support factories troubleshooting in your domain of expertise, ensuring prompt resolution of issues and minimizing downtime.
- Develop Relationships: Develop, manage, and expand relationships with stakeholders, internal functions, Corporate Research Centers, and external relevant parties (e.g., customers, universities), providing proposals for possible partnerships and collaborations.
- Embody Company Values: Live Hitachi Energy's core values of safety and integrity, taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.
- Education: We are looking for a MS or PhD in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
- Experience: More than 3 years of experience, either in R&D projects, engineering, or University research.
- Technical Skills: Knowledge in CAD modelling software (CREO, Solidworks, Solidedge), experience with advanced numerical simulations (e.g., fluid dynamics, mechanical simulations), proficiency in use of commercial simulations tools (e.g., Ansys, Fluents, CREO), and implementation of own solutions.
- Soft Skills: Excellent abilities in teamwork in international teams with excellent interpersonal skills, a structured, problem-solving, self-driven, solutions-oriented approach, strong communication skills, spirit of innovation, out of the box thinking, and fluency in spoken and written English and Spanish.
