Key Responsibilities

  • Design: Evaluate and select optimal technologies to develop new platform services, ensuring they are reliable, user-friendly, and sustainable.
  • Development: Create the necessary Infrastructure as Code to support our software development lifecycle and the end-to-end navify Platform.
  • Continuous Delivery & Monitoring: Enhance the integration of our software stack with existing CI/CD pipelines and contribute to ongoing improvements. Ensure that continuous monitoring solutions meet all operational requirements.
  • Process & Operations: Align all continuous delivery processes with operational needs and proactively foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Leadership: Cultivate a culture that prioritizes technical excellence while providing support and empathy for team members.
  • Evangelism: As a key advocate, promote healthy DevOps practices within the Roche Engineering Community.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Over 10 years of experience in the software industry.
  • At least 3 years of experience with modern platforms, including cloud technologies, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm charts, and Kustomize.
  • A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with AWS.
  • Proficiency in automating processes using Infrastructure as Code, preferably with Terraform.
  • Experience in operational automation with configuration management tools.
  • Hands-on experience in system administration with Unix-based systems, including configuration and networking.
  • Familiarity with various DevOps areas, including CI/CD, internal tooling, and production operations, utilizing tools such as GitLab, Jenkins, SonarQube, and others.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in deploying or managing large-scale distributed environments in edge computing.
  • Experience in production continuous monitoring environments covering all aspects of the platform and infrastructure.
  • Previous experience in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) is advantageous.
  • Hands-on experience with other cloud service providers such as Azure, GCP, or AliCloud.
  • Strong scripting skills in languages such as shell, Python, Ruby, or similar.
