Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join our team at CIC energiGUNE, a leading research institution in the field of thermal energy storage and conversion. The successful candidate will be part of an industry-collaborative project aimed at developing innovative thermal management solutions for photovoltaic panels.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and characterize phase change materials (PCMs) primarily based on hydrated salts.
- Modify PCMs as necessary to enhance thermal properties and stability.
- Conduct thorough characterization of thermal and structural properties using DSC, TGA, XRD, SEM, FTIR, Laser Flash, and other relevant techniques.
- Fabricate modular solutions containing PCMs on a lab-scale.
- Design and build small-scale test benches to evaluate the performance of developed PCM solutions.
- Integrate designed products into real applications and test under relevant conditions.
Qualifications:
- PhD Degree in Materials Science, Applied Physics, Thermal Engineering or related fields.
- Solid background in phase change materials, preferably inorganics, as well as physical-chemical and structural characterizations.
- Hands-on experience in lab-scale prototyping.
- Demonstrated self-motivation and autonomy.
- A committed team player.
- A highly motivated person dedicated to conducting high-quality research.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
