UbiSim, a pioneering company in the field of virtual reality, is seeking a visionary Engineering Director to spearhead the development of cutting-edge nursing simulations. As a key member of the Labster team, you will be responsible for driving technical strategy, leading a high-performing engineering team, and delivering innovative solutions that transform the way nurses are trained.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute a comprehensive technical strategy that aligns with Labster's overall goals and objectives.
- Lead and manage a talented engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless product development and delivery.
- Oversee process and practice improvements for software development, testing, and deployment.
- Mentor and develop team leaders, promoting professional growth and career development.
- Ensure secure and compliant software development and infrastructure operation.
- Manage the engineering budget, making informed decisions on hiring and tooling to drive commercial success.
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of managing and scaling engineering teams.
- Strong understanding of software development methodologies and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, remote work environment.
- Experience in creating EdTech, Healthcare, or VR products.
- Familiarity with game engine and creation platforms (e.g. Unity).
- Strong understanding of cloud technologies is a plus.
