About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Fire Safety Engineer to join our team at the Air Force Institute of Technology. As a Senior Fire Safety Engineer, you will serve as the technical authority for fire safety engineering and provide expert guidance on complex fire safety issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical direction and solutions for industrial fire safety and protection requirements, including input on engineering issues, non-conformances, and waivers.
- Conduct independent engineering studies, investigations, and research to solve unusual or unprecedented engineering problems.
- Apply processes, specifications, and regulations to evaluate the material condition of systems/equipment and determine maintenance, repair, and procedures needs.
- Support the achievement of goals and objectives through project management principles and make prioritization and critical decisions.
- Provide direct technical support to resolve problems beyond the capability of organizational level and intermediate maintenance activities.
Requirements:
- At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional engineer.
- Experience in fire safety engineering, industrial fire safety, and technical direction.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct independent engineering studies and investigations.
- Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to provide technical guidance and support.
