About the Role

The RAN Innovation Engineer will be part of the RAN innovation team based in Madrid, Spain, within the Global Access area of the Chief Technology Office (GCTIO) of Telefónica. This position will provide a deep understanding of new RAN technical enablers in 6G.

Main Activities and Objectives
  • Analysis of new technical enablers in 6G
  • Analysis of new capabilities in RAN related to different 3GPP releases and O-RAN specifications
  • Participation in European and national research projects, such as those of the SNS and UNICO I+D programs
Requirements
  • Telecommunications Engineer, with RAN expertise, with more than 3 years of experience working on radio access networks design and evolution
  • Master Degree mandatory
Desirable Skills
  • Project management capabilities
  • Ability to work in a multinational and multicultural environment
  • Strong verbal, visual, and written communication skills
  • Capability to understand business requirements and convert into technological requirements
  • Capability to interact with providers and integrators to run evaluation processes
  • Capability to identify and resolve problems
  • Capability to communicate at different levels (directors, engineers,...) to disseminate architecture propositions
Technical Skills
  • Strong knowledge in the area of RAN network
  • Knowledge of 5G and 5G Advanced
  • Capability to understand network architectures and protocols
  • Programming experience, Python in particular
Experience
  • 2-3 years + experience in RAN Access network
Language

Advanced English language is mandatory
