About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Innovation Leader to join our team at Fundació I2Cat. As a key member of our Cybersecurity area, you will be responsible for leading our innovation activities and driving the development of new cybersecurity solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and implement the internal Cybersecurity strategy, working closely with the Cybersecurity Research Director and Business Director.
  • Contribute to the definition and follow-up of the Cybersecurity innovation roadmap for the area.
  • Work with the Cybersecurity Research Director to advance research knowledge into innovation projects that meet market needs.
  • Plan, conceive, conduct, and manage development for current and prospective innovation projects, ensuring alignment with research area objectives and project goals.
  • Identify Cybersecurity innovation opportunities to increase current activities and establish new business opportunities.
  • Stay up-to-date with new Cybersecurity technologies and trends through specialized forums, events, and conferences.
  • Support business areas in generating Cybersecurity innovation proposals, providing technical support.
  • Lead the development and technology transfer of solutions, products, principles, or technology, in collaboration with the Cybersecurity area Research Director.
  • Initiate, design, develop, execute, and transfer new processes, tools, or systems through innovation processes and in conjunction with research.
  • Help promote and develop the professional career of Cybersecurity area innovation staff, together with the Cybersecurity area Director.
  • Define and plan activities/initiatives to achieve objectives defined by the area, together with the Cybersecurity area Director.

Requirements
  • University studies (Bachelors, Masters, or Postgraduate Degree) in cybersecurity, computer engineering, or information systems.
  • Demonstrable experience of at least 5 years in the field of cybersecurity.
  • Experience in technologies, tools, and services deployed in a SOC / CSIRT (Cybersecurity Operations Center).
  • Experience in project management in the field of advanced digital technologies.
  • Relations with the Catalan and European innovation ecosystem (technology centres, agencies, etc.).
  • Ability and experience to manage uncertainty.
  • Proactive, constructive, and collaborative attitude.
  • Strategic vision, leadership capacity, and results orientation.
  • Analytical and resolving ability for decision making.
  • Communication and organisation skills.
  • English conversation level (C1).
  • Ability to dialogue and institutional representation.
Desired Requirements
  • Experience in strategic consulting activities.
  • Catalan and Spanish (native).
  • Accredited certification in services or project management (ITIL Expert).
  • Past experience with FP7 or H2020 or H.E projects, occupying technical leadership positions (e.g. WP leader, technical coordinator, or project coordinator).
