Position Overview:
The Senior Manager for the EMEA wiring and cables category will be responsible for crafting and executing the global category strategy for this segment. This role requires close collaboration with the global category leader and the EMEA Supply Chain Business Partner. You will oversee operational aspects for the EMEA leadership team regarding contract execution, supplier selection, performance metrics, and optimization opportunities, all while managing supplier risks and achieving key performance indicators.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead regional Strategic Sourcing initiatives to enhance business value and outcomes.
- Formulate and implement a regional sourcing strategy that aligns with global objectives, operating within a matrixed environment.
- Work towards achieving annual productivity goals for the category, focusing on effective supply base management, fostering competition, and ensuring sustainable cost reductions.
- Enhance supply chain performance metrics in the EMEA region, including quality and delivery standards.
- Conduct supplier negotiations using data-driven methodologies and cost modeling, ensuring adherence to procurement policies.
- Collaborate with Engineering on new product introductions and modifications, aligning sourcing strategies with value engineering initiatives.
- Support product localization and development with vetted suppliers in partnership with global supply chain and engineering teams.
- Establish and execute a supplier risk mitigation strategy that complies with relevant policies.
- Uphold the highest standards of ethical conduct in all business dealings.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in Engineering or Purchasing; a master's degree is advantageous.
- A minimum of ten years of experience in sourcing and category management.
- Experience in a global, matrixed environment, preferably within the industrial or operational sectors.
- Fluency in both written and spoken English is essential; proficiency in Spanish is preferred.
