Data Engineer for Business Intelligence and Analytics Solutions

Job Summary:

The Data Engineer will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and implementing data solutions that enable the organization to make informed, data-driven decisions. This position requires a strong understanding of data integration, analysis, and visualization processes to support the company's Business Intelligence needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Data Integration:
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development teams, business analysts, and stakeholders, to understand and translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
    • Contribute to the creation, maintenance, and improvement of local Data Warehouses (SQL Server, Oracle, and Synapse).
    • Design and develop Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes using Store Procedures (Oracle and SQL Server), PowerCenter, Python, or other tools for extracting and transforming data from various sources.
    • Develop ETL processes using Transact-SQL, PL/SQL, PowerCenter, and/or Python.
    • Ensure data quality and consistency across systems.
  2. BI & Analytics Solution Design and Development:
    • Contribute to the creation, maintenance, and improvement of MicroStrategy and Power BI dashboards and reports.
    • Design and develop robust data models that support the company's analytical needs.
    • Provide support and training to end-users on the use of Business Intelligence tools and solutions.
    • Ensure the security and compliance of Business Intelligence and analytics solutions.
  3. Others:
    • Monitor the performance of Business Intelligence solutions and implement improvements to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in Business Intelligence and Big Data to recommend and implement new solutions.
    • Azure Platform knowledge is also recommended.
Requirements:
  1. Education: Degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  2. Language: Strong skills in Spanish and English to work and communicate with local and core teams. At least B2 is required.
  3. Experience: Previous 3-year experience in a similar role as a Data Engineer or Business Intelligence Engineer. Experience with MicroStrategy and Power BI is recommended. Experience in developing and maintaining ETL processes (SQL is required; PowerCenter, Python, or other ETL tools are also recommended).
  4. Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of SQL databases (Oracle and SQL Server). Ability to analyze, design, and optimize data models (source, targets, and transformations). Development skills in SQL are required (Transact-SQL or PL/SQL recommended). Development skills in PowerCenter or Python are also recommended.
  5. Soft Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently as part of a team. Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
