Power Electronics Engineer

Dopp is seeking a highly skilled Power Electronics Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team in Seville. As a key member of our engineering group, you will be responsible for designing and developing power converters and control systems for our clients in the energy sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and Development: Design power converters from concept to prototype, including simulations, circuit design, and proof of concept.
- Analysis and Specification: Analyze specifications for electronic equipment and design power conversion and control systems to meet those requirements.
- Commissioning and Testing: Commission power conversion and control systems for interfacing with storage systems in the laboratory and perform factory and field validation tests.
- Simulation and Design: Design and simulate power converter control systems on simulation platforms and implement them on microcontroller systems.
- Hardware and Software Development: Specify and design power hardware according to product requirements, including drivers, semiconductors, dissipation, and cooling.
- Validation and Certification: Validate hardware and software components and obtain component homologation and product certifications.
- Documentation and Project Management: Prepare instructions and associated documentation and manage technical projects.
Requirements
- Education: University degree in Engineering.
- Language: Advanced English level.
- Experience: Experience in designing electrical systems and power electronics converters and their control, including knowledge of semiconductors, capacitors, inductive, protections, and air/water cooling systems.
- Simulation and Design Tools: Advanced level in power converter simulations in platforms such as PSCAD, Digsilent, and SPICE.
- Topologies and Semiconductors: Experience in evaluating topologies and power semiconductors for an application based on requirements.
- Control Theory: Knowledge of control theory for power electronics applications is a plus.
- SiC and GaN Semiconductors: Experience with SiC, GaN semiconductors and driver design is an asset.
- Electronics and Embedded SW: Previous experience in electronics and/or embedded SW product validation, use, and automation of laboratory test benches and HIL systems is a plus.
- Commissioning and Measurement Equipment: Previous experience in the commissioning of power converters, and the use and operation of measurement equipment and laboratory instrumentation will be an asset.
- Electronic Design and PCB Layout: Experience in electronic design and PCB layout would be an asset.
