About the Role

Vicomtech is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Digital Security Researcher and Strategist to join our team. As a key member of our cybersecurity department, you will play a crucial role in defining and implementing our digital security strategy, leading research projects, and collaborating with industry partners and customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategy and Roadmap Development: Participate in the definition of Vicomtech's digital security strategy and roadmap, focusing on protection, identity management, and trust guarantees.
  • Business and Research Relationships: Establish and maintain relationships with industry partners, customers, and academia to drive business and research opportunities.
  • Research Team Coordination: Lead and coordinate research teams, working closely with researchers from various areas, customers, and external partners on national and international applied R&D projects.
  • Scientific Publications and Research Orientation: Promote scientific publications and research orientation of Vicomtech's activities, ensuring a strong research focus.
  • Research Proposal Development: Support the definition of research proposals that address industry needs, transforming industrial requirements into applied R&D proposals.
  • Project Management: Provide technical leadership and participate in the management of projects related to information protection, trust, and biometrics.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with stakeholders and industry standards, extending relationships through communication and dissemination activities.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Hold a PhD degree with at least 2 years of postdoctoral experience, demonstrating expertise in digital security.
  • Research Project Management: Proven experience in managing research projects, with a minimum budget of 450,000 euros.
  • Scientific Publications: Author of at least 6 indexed scientific publications.
  • Specialization and Problem-Solving: Possess in-depth knowledge in a specific area of scientific or engineering specialization, with strong problem-solving skills and ability to take responsibility under pressure.
  • Team Leadership and Communication: Strong ability to work in a team, lead research teams, and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Language Skills: Proficient in English and Spanish, with a minimum level of C1 or equivalent.
Desirable Skills
  • Technical Expertise: Experience in at least one of the following areas: identity management, Self-sovereign Identities, Federated Access Control, Biometric systems, Traceability systems, Forensics, Blockchain, Data Protection.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to define objectives, roadmaps, technological trends, and demonstrate strategic thinking.
  • Relational Skills: Proven relational skills, including networking, establishing and maintaining strategic contacts in industry, institutions, and academia.
  • IP Technologies and Patents: Extensive record of IP technologies and patents.
