Automation Engineer Job Description

Bunge is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join our team in Barcelona. As an Automation Engineer, you will play a key role in improving and streamlining our manufacturing processes using technology.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect and prepare information about existing control systems, including software and hardware specifications.
  • Collect the latest automation software backups and prepare technical specifications for quotation.
  • Support suppliers during field visits and scope definition, and participate in design work at all stages of automation modernization projects.
  • Install and commission automation systems, and supervise commissioning and final acceptance.
  • Guarantee process and installation safety, and manage change procedures.
  • Develop and maintain cause and effect matrices, and eliminate defects and errors.
  • Collaborate with other business units, and contract and third-party management.
Requirements:
  • Background in Engineering, Electrical, Automation, Computer Science, or similar field.
  • 3+ years of experience as an automation engineer or automation project engineer, preferably in the oilseed industry or oil & gas industry.
  • Fluent in Spanish and advanced English.
  • Availability for non-frequent travels.
  • Solid understanding of computer programming and software development.
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical skills.
