About the Role:

Bunge is seeking an experienced Automation Specialist to join our team in Barcelona. As an Automation Specialist, you will play a key role in planning, implementing, and monitoring automation technology to improve and streamline manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect and prepare updated information about existing control systems, including software and hardware specifications.
  • Collect the latest automation software backups.
  • Prepare technical specifications for request for quotation related to electrical engineering and automation.
  • Support potential suppliers during field visits and scope definition.
  • Participate in design work at all stages of automation modernization projects.
  • Check project and assembly documentation.
  • Supervise installation and commissioning work on modernization projects.
  • Guarantee process and installation safety.
  • Manage change procedures.
  • Develop and maintain cause and effect matrix based on existing software with process engineer.
  • Eliminate defects and errors with product and software development.
  • Collaborate with other business units (Operations, IT, Industry 4.0, etc.).
  • Contract and third-party management.
  • Define infrastructure and architecture of networks with other areas of the company.
  • Integrate and communicate between diverse layers of the network, following applicable cybersecurity protocols.
  • Support in defining wireless OT network and communication protocols.
  • Interact with process historians, enabling communications and data for deeper analysis.
  • Interact with different communication protocols (Profibus, OPC UA and DA, Profinet, etc.).
  • Support projects in Western Europe region with engineering tasks.

Requirements:

  • Background in Engineering, Electrical, Automation, Computer Science, or similar field.
  • 3+ years of experience as automation engineer or automation project engineer, preferably in oilseed industry or oil & gas industry.
  • Fluent in Spanish and advanced English.
  • Availability for non-frequent travels.
  • Solid understanding of computer programming and software development.
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Desire to continually upgrade technical knowledge.
  • Excited about trying new solutions.
