Automation General Support Role Overview

The "1.6 Sestao Program" team is responsible for upgrading the Sestao plant automation, driving performance improvement through technological advancements. Automation of operations is a key element in site transformation, encompassing production line automation and transversal processes such as H&S, logistics, water, energy management, and environmental control.

This role combines teamwork with high-skilled international teams, analyzing business needs and improvement opportunities in operational automation, implementing software solutions for shopfloor challenges, and utilizing data analytics for process improvement.

We are seeking self-motivated, innovative, and proactive individuals with automation analysis and development skills, aiming to gather real-world experience in the steelmaking leader company.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Understand automation needs of the "1.6 Program" and ArcelorMittal standards.
  • Interact with production, maintenance, and technical teams to write and assess specifications for electrical and automation revamp and new installations in Sestao.
  • Assess and discuss suppliers' bids.
  • Follow up erection tasks from quality and timing perspectives.
  • Prepare and follow up integration tests, cold commissioning, and hot commissioning.
  • Face Low Voltage technical offers, including instrumentation & sensors, and follow up erection and commissioning according to Project Manager instructions.

Requirements:

  • Technical-oriented Master's Degree in Industrial, Computer Science, Automation, Telecom, Maths, Physics, or a related field, or showing high experience in a technical orientation.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar position.
  • English: B2 - Formal meeting conversation level required.
