Job Summary

Colt Technology Services Group Ltd. is seeking a skilled Ethernet & Optical Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our network operations team, you will be responsible for proactively monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving faults across our pan-European Ethernet and optical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and troubleshoot faults across our pan-European Ethernet and optical infrastructure
  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues in a calm and professional manner
  • Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Build and maintain working relationships with key interconnect partners and vendors
  • Manage and coordinate tasks assigned to other teams, such as Field Maintenance or Technical Assistance Centre

Requirements:

  • Good understanding and proven troubleshooting experience in Ethernet, WDM, DWDM, TDM, ADM, DCS, DXC, SDH, and PDH
  • Proven working experience with vendors such as Marconi, ALU, Lucent, Nortel, Nokia, NSN, Siemens, Overture, Adva, Infinera, Aspen, Netcool, Smarts, and Ciena
  • Excellent knowledge of LAN (Ethernet) based products and network management systems
  • Ability to work in a 24/7 shift pattern and participate in on-call rotations

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience of diagnosing and troubleshooting IP Access, MPLS, and VPN solutions across a pan-European network
  • Fluency in English and a second European language
