About the Role

We are seeking an experienced AR Accountant to join our Financial Services team at Sommet Education. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for facilitating and ensuring daily cash receipts, financial aid manual EFT posting, credit card processing, NSF and foreign currency check issues are posted accurately and timely.

Main Responsibilities

  • Process and reconcile cash receipts to ensure timely completion of month-end close.
  • Collaborate with the Finance Department to assist with reconciliations and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Process and delegate student payments, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Oversee the application of manual student EFT transactions and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
  • Post and deposit all other cash receipts on a daily basis, maintaining accurate records.
  • Monitor and respond to common email boxes, ensuring timely and effective communication.
  • Provide support to financial aid, recruitment, and registration efforts as needed, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Run end-of-day procedures accurately and efficiently, ensuring data integrity.
  • Be flexible and adaptable, handling duties as directed by management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business with a focus on Accounting, preferably with a strong background in financial services.
  • At least two years of AR experience, preferably in a university setting, with a proven track record of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Fluency in Spanish, English, and French, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced experience using Microsoft Excel applications, with a strong understanding of financial software and systems.
  • Experience using ERP Microsoft Dynamics is an advantage, but not required.
  • Must be a self-starter, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills, with a strong ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
