Senior System Engineer AIX

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior System Engineer AIX to join our team. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for ensuring the availability and performance of our AIX systems.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure 24/7 system availability and provide cross-departmental assurance of service quality.
- Plan, deploy, and test new releases within the given system architecture and customize systems in coordination with customers or application developers.
- Analyze existing systems in terms of performance, utilization, and degree of utilization, and advise customers or application developers on cost optimization, tuning potentials, and performance effects.
- Develop and implement backup and restart concepts, as well as procedures and standards, and monitor compliance with privacy and data security requirements.
- Assign and manage system access rights, automate operations, and ensure up-to-date documentation of assigned systems and system components.
- Administrate Network Installation Management (NIM) tool and Hardware Management Console (HMC) for IBM Power-Server, manage firmware patches, and plan, deploy, and test system migrations within the given system architecture in coordination with customers.
- Develop and implement system monitoring and Unix system-programming, support internal and external audits, and communicate with external service providers.
We are looking for a candidate with a degree in computer science or a comparable subject, or comparable on-the-job knowledge and experience. Practical experience in IT service management (ITIL) is also required.
- Pronounced ability to work in international teams and quick on the uptake combined with the ability to understand complex contexts and process insights gained.
- Experience and knowledge in the problem determination method in the environment of the mentioned products.
- Very good spoken and written German and English language skills (preferably German native).
- Willingness to be on call (7×24) and to travel.
- High level of initiative and a strong sense of responsibility, high customer and service orientation, and safe and attentive behavior towards customers.
