About the Role:
The Application Engineer position is a technical role that focuses on managing day-to-day operations within our on-prem data center across various service delivery scenarios. This includes handling service requests, changes, incident and problem resolutions, and providing second-line support in live environments. The Application Engineer collaborates closely with IT Stack, Database Engineers, and development teams to ensure seamless service operation and continuous process improvement through new release deployments or automation solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation and Deployment: Install and deploy software applications developed by our R&D team across different environments (test and production).
- Automation and Continuous Improvement: Automate application installation and continuously improve processes using Ansible, Docker, and Kubernetes technologies.
- Troubleshooting and Coordination: Troubleshoot application incidents and coordinate with other teams in case of database, infrastructure, or software issues.
- Health Checks and Compliance: Perform necessary health checks of services/solutions and ensure compliance with information security requirements in Service Operations.
- Future Needs and Investments: Provide input on future and continuous needs regarding new investments to maintain existing and future services to the Data Center Manager.
- Knowledge and Skills:
- Licensed in IT or Equivalent: Possess a degree in IT or equivalent.
- Technical Skillset: Have a strong technical skillset in the software application area.
- Knowledge of ITIL Processes: Familiarity with ITIL processes and Service Management.
- Communication and Teamwork: Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Adaptability and Flexibility: Ability to adapt to changes and work under pressure.
