We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Principal Data Engineer to join our team at Bunge Iberica Sa. As a key member of our global data engineering team, you will play a critical role in building high-quality data pipelines and driving analytic solutions that generate insights from our connected data.
Key Responsibilities- Solve complex data problems to deliver insights that help our organization achieve its business goals.
- Build a Data Platform to enable product teams, data analysts, and data scientists to solve complex data problems and deliver insights and value in a faster, easier, and cheaper way.
- Architect and implement a Lake House architecture in the Data Platform to enable data democratization in Bunge for any kind of structured or unstructured data.
- Create data products for analytics and data scientist team members to improve their productivity.
- Mentor and coach other data and analytic professionals on data standards and practices.
- Foster a culture of sharing, re-use, design for scale stability, and operational efficiency of data and analytical solutions.
- Lead the evaluation, implementation, and deployment of emerging tools and processes for analytic data engineering to improve the organization's productivity as a team.
- Develop and deliver communication and education plans on analytic data engineering capabilities, standards, and processes.
- Partner with business analysts and solutions architects to develop technical architectures for strategic enterprise projects and initiatives.
- Learn about machine learning, data science, computer vision, artificial intelligence, statistics, and/or applied mathematics.
- Ensure timely analysis and testing for regular maintenance of solutions over time.
- Establish and implement Data strategy and Data model in the Bunge Data Platform.
- PhD in a STEM field with research experience in Data Science or experience as a Postgraduate degree in a STEM field with 6+ years of experience as a Lead/Principal Data Engineer.
- Domain expert and functional advisor for business stakeholders in Data Engineering subjects using Cloud technologies.
- Strong Database development experience using Hadoop or Cloud MPP engines (BigQuery preferred) and experience with a variety of relational, NoSQL, and cloud database technologies.
- Proficient in SQL and data analysis and experience with at least one programming language (Python or Scala preferred).
- Conceptual understanding of data mesh concepts and modern Lake-House data Architecture.
