Salary & Benefits
The salary range for this role is €60,000 – €70,000 per annum, depending on experience. Additionally, you'll enjoy 26 days of paid holiday plus bank holidays, your birthday off, and flexible working hours. You'll also have the opportunity to attend conferences and workshops related to technology and/or events in the financial sector.
About the Role
This critical position involves designing and refining our data architecture, driving innovation, and solving complex technical challenges that directly impact our mission. As a key member of the data team, you'll work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and manage data pipelines, data models, promote best practices in data governance and security, and lead initiatives that enhance the overall data capabilities of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, and ongoing optimization of scalable data architectures using AWS services like Glue, Redshift, Athena, S3, and Lambda.
- Set the technical direction for data systems that support the company's long-term goals.
- Provide technical leadership within the data team, mentoring mid-level and junior engineers, guiding best practices, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
- Tackle the most challenging technical issues, offering innovative solutions that enhance system performance, security, scalability, and data usability.
- Work closely with product, engineering, and business intelligence teams to develop and maintain data models that support both operational reporting and advanced analytics.
- Lead efforts in data governance, ensuring data integrity, compliance, and security across all platforms.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Advanced technical expertise in event-driven architectures, change data capture (CDC), and data modeling.
- Experience with AWS data services, including Glue, Redshift, Athena, S3, and Lambda, and strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and Git.
- Proven leadership skills with experience mentoring and guiding junior and mid-level engineers.
- Complex problem-solving ability, particularly in designing and optimizing large-scale data architectures.
