Job Description:

The Database Administrator role in the Database Services Team at Ifs is responsible for delivering Oracle Database-related services for all applications within the IFS Cloud Suite.

This role requires covering a 24/7 shift pattern and supporting customers across different continents, including EURA compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Follow documented processes in daily duties supporting and maintaining Database services.
  • Act as a DBA resource to help perform daily duties when needed to address issues with client systems.
  • Provide final escalation point for challenging issues with Database services.
  • Support internal and external teams during investigations and corrective actions.
  • Work with R&D to provide guidance and feedback for improving the IFS product set in future releases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement agreed backup solutions for the IFS Application suite.
  • Follow best practices for performance tuning in Cloud database environments.
  • Implement and test disaster recovery solutions with the CSA and R&D teams.
  • Implement monitoring tooling to manage database availability.
  • Work with the CSC, CSA, and Automation teams to automate common tasks.

Requirements:

  • At least 2-3 years' experience in Oracle Database administration in cloud computing or enterprise IT service delivery.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of cloud computing services or IT service management methodologies.
  • Experience in a modern ticket/service desk tooling such as ServiceNow or Jira Service Desk.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in ITIL, ISO 20000, or a similar service delivery framework.
  • Experience in provision of cloud computing services or IT service delivery.
  • Vendor provided technical certification (CCNA, OCP, MCSA, etc.).

Personal Abilities:

  • Citizens of the European Union or a corresponding work permit in Poland.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including business fluent English.
  • Ability to work to deadlines, targets, and needs of the role.
  • Ability to manage own time efficiently and effectively.

Technical Skills:

  • Experience of implementing and managing critical production systems, especially in the cloud.
  • Experience of supporting multi-tenant Oracle databases (CDB/PDB).
  • Experience administering Oracle databases (minimum 12c) on Linux and Windows operating systems.
  • Good technical experience with performance tuning, backup/restore RMAN, and data pump export/import.
  • Knowledge of disaster recovery, dataguard setup, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with database cloning RMAN active duplicate.

Additional Skills:

  • Some technical experience with Linux shell scripts (bash, PowerShell, and Windows command).
  • Experience with database upgrades (12c to 19c and above) and patching.
  • Experience working within a strict ticketing system, such as ServiceNow or Jira.
  • Basic understanding of Cloud Technologies Azure, AWS, or GCP.

Useful Skills:

  • Knowledge of other database systems (Azure SQL, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.).
  • Microsoft Azure PaaS (App Services, SQL Database, Storage, Redis Cache, PostgreSQL), Event Hub, Automation, monitoring, Security Centre.
  • Network architectures, especially related to Microsoft Azure (vNets, NSGs, VPN, ExpressRoute, SSL/TLS certificates, DNS).
  • Native Azure monitoring.
  • DevOps Practices (Terraform, Chef, and related tools).
  • Security principles (encryption, authentication, authorization, integrity, auditing, pen testing, etc.).
