The Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced researcher to lead a junior research group in the following areas of specialization:

  • Bioengineering for Personalized Medicine: Developing new diagnostic, modeling, and prognostic systems to segment and identify the most appropriate treatment for each patient.
  • Bioengineering for Advanced and Emergent Therapies: Developing therapies for human use based on genes, cells, or tissues, including products of autologous, allogeneic, or xenogeneic origin.

The successful candidate will be expected to develop an ambitious research project and contribute to IBEC's strategy based on excellent science, internationalization, translation, and talent.

Apart from outstanding scientific output, the candidate must prove their ability to lead a research group and contribute to the development of competitive proposals as a principal investigator.

Any mobility experience will be considered as a valuable contribution.

The selection process will consist of a remote evaluation by interdisciplinary, internal, and external experts, followed by an interview in Barcelona in November 2023.

The successful candidate will be appointed for an initial 4-year period, with the possibility of extension based on a positive evaluation by the International Scientific Committee.

Junior Group Leaders at IBEC are offered a start-up package, suitable laboratory space, access to state-of-the-art core facilities, and a research project manager to support them with project management and interaction with administrative staff.
