Accounting & Reporting Team

The Senior Accountant is a key member of the Accounting & Reporting team at West Coast Supply Group, responsible for financial accounting of one or more legal entities within the company.

As part of a team of Senior Accountants and an Assistant Manager Accounting & Reporting, the Senior Accountant reports to the Manager Accounting & Reporting.

The ideal candidate is an ambitious, educated professional who contributes to further professionalizing the Accounting & Reporting processes within the company.

The Senior Accountant works closely with colleagues in the accounting & reporting team and operational teams that impact financial processes within legal entities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and evaluate accounting processes to ensure timely and complete financial administration according to laws, regulations, and internal requirements.
  • Process bank statements, fixed assets administration, cost allocations, revaluations, salary journals, accruals, provisions, tax bookings, and supplier and customer approval in the ERP system.
  • Ensure timely reporting of relevant taxes, including reconciliation of Balance Sheet positions.
  • Prepare and submit VAT, CBS, IDEP returns, Statiegeld returns, weekly Consumption Tax payment, quarterly Consumption Tax returns, and packaging tax returns.
  • Monitor and manage communication with external parties and intercompany balances reconciliation.

Financial Reporting:

Support the monthly closing processes and deadlines of the Accounting & Reporting team, ensuring timely reporting of trial balance, including analytical review.

Participate in interim process inquiries by the external auditor and provide supporting documentation of process descriptions.

Support in the year-end audit process with the external auditor, including sample testing, goods movement overview, accrual administration, and provision accounting.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in financial accounting/GL-administration.
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience in an all-round Accountant position in a fast-paced commercial environment.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English.
  • Good knowledge of Dutch accounting standards & guidelines.
  • Experience with Microsoft Navision.
