We are seeking a highly skilled Genomics Data Curation Specialist to join our team at 24-7 Consultancy. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing data harmonization and curation activities, ensuring data quality assurance, and providing bioinformatics support.
Key Responsibilities- Data Harmonization: Align genomic data with IMPaCT standards and best practices.
- Data Curation: Establish a data dictionary of variables using suitable ontologies and ensure data consistency.
- Data Quality Assurance: Conduct quality checks and generate metadata to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Bioinformatics Support: Provide technical support for genomic analysis plans and curation of results.
- Communication: Present progress and status of curation activities to internal and external stakeholders.
You will be part of a dynamic team at the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) in Barcelona, working closely with the European Genome-Phenome Archive (EGA) team. Our team is composed of bioinformaticians, developers, and scientists from various backgrounds, and we are committed to excellence in research and innovation.
Requirements- Education: S. in Biology, Biomedicine, or equivalent degree with combined education and/or experience in Bioinformatics or Data Science.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of demonstrable experience in high-throughput genomic and clinical data curation, harmonization, quality control checks, and analysis.
- Skills: Good understanding of clinical concepts and genomics, experience with health data standards (OMOP, FHIR...), and ontologies/vocabularies (LOINC, SNOMED...).
- Language: Fluency in English (minimum level of B2 or similar).
- Full-time position (40h/week).
- Workplace: Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) – Barcelona.
- Contract: Temporary (1 year and three months approximately, linked to the PMP CESPED project).
