About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Genomics Technician to join our team at the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) Genomics Unit. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the data quality control workflow, ensuring the integrity and quality of sequencing data produced.

About the Team

The CRG Genomics Unit is a dynamic and interdisciplinary team of 14 highly experienced NGS technologies technicians, led by Dr. Berta Fusté. Our team is dedicated to providing excellent, cutting-edge services in the fields of next-generation sequencing (NGS). We are equipped with a wide range of short-read sequencing instruments and have a long-read sequencing instrument from Oxford Nanopore Technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the data quality control workflow, including checking the quality of sequencing data produced and transferring all data from NGS projects run at the Unit.
  • Give support with the LIMS and Agendo systems.
  • Help Genomics Technicians troubleshoot sequencing runs.
Requirements
  • PhD in bioinformatics or a related discipline or equivalent working experience.
  • Knowledge of molecular biology, genomics, sequencing technologies, and bioinformatics.
  • NGS data quality control (FastQC) to check the integrity and quality of the sequenced data.
  • Fluency in using the Linux command line, bash scripts, and HPC.
  • Proven experience in programming, fluency in Python and R.
