Library Assistant

Kwantlen Polytechnic University is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Associate Library Technician to join our team. As a key member of our library staff, you will provide exceptional customer service and support to students, faculty, and staff.

• Provide circulation services, including checking out and returning library materials, processing payments, and answering patron inquiries.
• Assist with front-line support, including answering phone calls, responding to emails, and resolving technical issues.
• Work collaboratively with library staff to maintain a welcoming and inclusive environment.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of library policies, procedures, and systems.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date on best practices and emerging trends in library services.

• Completion of a two-year Library Technician diploma from a publicly accredited post-secondary institution or equivalent education, training, and experience.
• Experience using an integrated library system and ability to learn new software and technologies quickly.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to customer service and teamwork.
• Physical ability to lift 30-50 pounds and move materials on carts.
