Product Development Specialist

Job Purpose: Ontex is seeking a Product Developer to lower the cost of products by modifying the bill of material while maintaining product performance. This role will support procurement in their strategies by authorizing raw materials for production and creating raw material specifications. The successful candidate will be the expert and knowledge center for raw materials used in the region.
Main Responsibilities and Key Tasks:
- Focus on the Feminine Care Pads & Liners product category, including primary packaging.
- Coordinate and deliver Design to Value projects following the FTR/MDR approach, ensuring minimal risk to third-party infringement.
- Support Feminine Care Pads & Liners team innovation projects.
- Collaborate with industrialization team, suppliers, legal team, engineering, purchase, sales, marketing, and plants to create necessary documentation.
- Deliver raw material specifications in a standardized way for newly validated materials.
- Define opex and capex needs for Design to Value projects in collaboration with Engineering/operations/others.
- Maintain necessary tools and systems to comply with regulations.
- Contribute to a yearly Design to Value plan by bringing ideas or running feasibility exercises.
- Follow up on Design to Value saving plan forecasts and reported savings of own projects.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor, Master, or university diploma degree in natural science or engineering.
- Broad scientific and technical scope.
- Knowledge in statistics.
- Excellent English (oral + written) is mandatory.
- A first work experience in R&D or project-based environment is an asset.
- Preferably an experience in a multi-cultural, international environment.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
- Self-dependent and scientific way of working.
- Solid decision-making ability.
- Results-oriented.
- Strong communication skills.
- Good presentation skills.
- Strong team-working skills, openness to cooperate within the entire organization.
- Travel to different locations, internal and external (supplier, customers, institutes,..) may be required up to 15%.
