**About the Opportunity**
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Sustainable Aquaculture Research Associate to join our team at the Department of Marine Sciences and Applied Biology. This part-time position (15 hours per week) is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about environmental science and natural resources management.
**Company Overview**
The University of Alicante President's Office invites applications for an open-ended contractual position as a research associate to collaborate with the funded research line "Management for Sustainable Aquaculture." The projects are conducted in collaboration with the Biodiversity Foundation of the Spanish Ministry of the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, under the Pleamar Programme, and co-funded by the European Union through the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (EMFAF).
**Job Description**
The selected candidate will assist in sampling and analysis in wet labs, including work with samples of fish and crustaceans. Additionally, they will be responsible for economic and administrative management of the project, drafting reports, managing documentation, and creating communication materials in Catalan. Other tasks related to this position may arise from the implementation of the project.
**Requirements**
To be eligible for this position, candidates must hold a technical diploma or equivalent, possess a C1 level of Catalan, have Spanish nationality or meet specific legal residence requirements, and be proficient in any of the official languages of the Valencia Region. The ideal candidate should also have good physical and mental capacities necessary for the job.
**Salary and Benefits**
The successful candidate can expect a monthly salary of €504.47 gross, plus two extra payments of the same amount. In accordance with the provisions of the agreement of the Governing Council of 27 January 2022, the percentage distribution in the contractual job vacancies for women and men is 55.00% and 45.00%, respectively.
**Project Collaboration**
The candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate on two projects: "Global Change Resilience in Aquaculture – Tools for Long-term Sustainability (GLORiA-TOOLS)" and "Cultivation and Use of Marine Invertebrates in Low Environmental Impact Aquaculture Systems (CAMBIA)."
