EHS Engineer | Environmental Health and Safety Professional

We are seeking an experienced EHS Engineer to provide environmental, health, and safety leadership to our site. As a key member of our team, you will be accountable for supporting EHS activities, including EHS objectives and targets, internal reporting of EHS performance, and communicating national, area, and local regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Manage Site EHS Performance
Direct the development, maintenance, and achievement of EHS goals in support of corporate and division EHS strategic initiatives.
Facilitate Risk AssessmentWork with the leadership team to identify critical EHS hazards and aspects, and create targets and objectives based on key EHS risks.
Track PerformanceDetermine appropriate leading and lagging indicators to track performance against targets and objectives.
Support EHS GoalsWork with the leadership team to create EHS goals for the site manager and activity-based goals for the leadership team, functional managers, and front-line supervisors to drive EHS culture, compliance, and results.
Assign EHS Element ChampionsWork to assign EHS element champions and facilitate their engagement in ownership of the EHS elements.
Drive Zero Incident CultureDrive and promote a zero incident EHS culture throughout the site.
Facilitate EHS EngagementCreate and facilitate EHS engagement through EHS teams and committees needed to accomplish the established targets and objectives for the year.
Ensure ComplianceWork with the leadership team and EHS element champions to complete an annual evaluation of compliance for EHS country, state, and local regulations.
Pursue RecognitionPursue third-party recognition for programs that establish the site and Tenneco's EHS program as world-class.
Manage EHS DataUse established EHS data processes, such as AEGIS, to manage data such as injuries and illnesses, environmental metrics, risk assessments, EHS action items, and other pertinent information.
Create Training MatricesCreate training matrices to ensure that all training is defined and tracked to completion.
Ensure Operational ControlsWork with the site leadership team and facilities to ensure that all key EHS operational controls are in place, on a PM program, and that EHS action items are resolved on a timely basis.
Requirements- Education
Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, ergonomics, or equivalent.
Experience5+ years of experience with an emphasis in health and safety program management and employee training in an industrial environment.
LanguageFluent English.
Industry KnowledgeComprehension of industry, state, and country EHS requirements.
Team-Building SkillsStrong team-building skills.
Organizational SkillsStrong organizational skills.
Data ManagementAdept at utilizing company-wide systems for reporting EHS data and information.
Managerial CourageAbility to demonstrate managerial courage, such as managing varied interests representing potential conflicts.
Leadership SkillsAbility to lead and support cross-functional EHS teams.
