About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Development Engineer to join our Reliability and Maintenance Engineering (RME) team at Amazon. As a key member of our Global RME Central Team, you will play a critical role in maximizing equipment reliability and operational performance of equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, deploy, monitor, and automate infrastructure, tools, and systems to provide a highly-available and resilient platform for our customers' and our team's workloads.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to uncover infrastructure improvement areas and remove them through automation.
  • Contribute toward the forward-looking vision for the team.
  • Help improve operational excellence by reducing technical debt for the team.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems).
  • Experience in professional software development.
  • Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems.
  • Experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems, and hands-on systems engineering.
  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, or Ruby.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with PowerShell (preferred), Python, Ruby, or Java.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment using the Scrum methodology.
