Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our project development team, you will be responsible for designing and developing complex mechanical subsystems and components for our wind turbines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the agile design team in technology and product development designs and decisions
  • Design and develop large assemblies and advanced shapes in 3D modeling using NX Siemens PLM
  • Perform rough structural calculations using analytical methods and numerical methods (FEM)
  • Prepare technical documentation, including 2D drafting with Geometrical Product Specifications (GPS), D-FMEA, EHS Design Risk Assessment, Tolerance Stack Analysis, and Purchase specification
  • Participate in design reviews with stakeholders and balance important requirements such as quality, cost, manufacturability, serviceability, and EHS
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design meets business requirements
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Several years of experience in product development and mechanical design engineering
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling and 2D drafting in a CAD tool, preferably with NX Siemens PLM software
  • Knowledge of machinery directive 2006/42/EC and relevant technical standards such as EN 1090, EN 1993, and EN 1999
  • Good knowledge of manufacturing processes, such as machining and welding, and preferably a craftsman background
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and challenging conditions
  • Strong desire and ability to drive improvement and change
