Postdoctoral Fellow Position at IRB Barcelona

IRB Barcelona, a leading research institute in biomedicine, is seeking a talented Postdoctoral Fellow to join our structural bioinformatics team in the Molecular Modeling and Bioinformatics group. As part of the "XNA-Hub" initiative, funded by the Instituto de Salud Carlos III, you will work on theoretical computational studies of nucleic acids, developing new algorithms and scientific workflows, and applying bio-statistics and artificial intelligence to obtain and refine new modified oligonucleotide parameters.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement new computational methods for nucleic acid simulations and analysis
  • Develop and optimize high-performance computing workflows for large-scale simulations
  • Collaborate with experimental biophysicists and molecular biologists to integrate computational results with experimental data
  • Contribute to the development of automated tools for parameterization of nucleic acids derivatives
Requirements:
  • PhD in Chemistry, Physics, Computational Sciences, Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, or Biomedicine
  • Experience in computational Molecular Dynamics (MD) technique, including simulations and analysis with AMBER, GROMACS, and OpenMM
  • Experience in High Performance Computing infrastructures, including workload managers and remote connections
  • Excellent Linux OS skills and proficiency in shell and scripting languages
  • Fluent English and good teamwork skills
Desirable Skills:
  • Experience in computational Quantum Mechanics (QM) technique, including simulations and analysis with Gaussian and GAMESS
