Your RoleWe are seeking an experienced Air Cooled Chiller Product Development Lead to join our engineering team in Sant Boi-Barcelona-Spain. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the development of air-cooled chiller products, ensuring they meet performance specifications and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain an in-depth understanding of theories, concepts, technical principles, and processes related to all aspects of air-cooled chillers.
- Design refrigeration system, components selection, and chiller mechanical assembly design with proficiency.
- Serve as a technical expert to support product design compliance to EU codes.
- Work closely with application engineering teams and customers to understand their specific requirements and develop tailored design solutions for air-cooled chiller systems.
- Participate in design reviews and develop validation tests.
- Identify opportunities for product and process improvements based on field feedback and performance data.
- Collaborate with global engineering centers and local factories to initiate and execute engineering changes.
- Support new product introduction and components localization efforts.
- Provide support to field service teams to investigate and troubleshoot issues reported in the field for installed chillers.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; Master's degree is preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, specifically with air-cooled chillers or HVAC systems.
- Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and HVAC design principles.
- Proven experience in supporting manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., Pro-E, Creo), MRP systems (e.g. SAP), and engineering analysis tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach to troubleshooting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders across the globe.
