Job Summary

Fluor Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Senior Control Systems Engineer to join our team in Tarragona, Spain. As a key member of our Engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing control systems for various industrial processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform and check calculations, specify equipment, and solve moderately complex engineering problems
  • Review vendor equipment documentation within the discipline and from other disciplines for compliance with project requirements, and actively seek discrepancy resolution
  • Develop estimates, schedules, progress reports, and key quantity tracking reports
  • Identify deviations in job scope, estimate magnitude of changes, and initiate trends or change orders
  • Support estimate activities
  • Interface with project disciplines and client representatives
  • Develop and build client relations promoting Client Service Excellence
  • Participate in activities associated with equipment and material procurement, permitting, and subcontracting
  • Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines
  • Organize and prioritize a variety of projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner, set priorities, and meet deadlines
  • Plan and organize own work assignments, as well as carry out tasks from management staff
  • Prepare/review scopes of work for third party contracts
  • Perform control systems sizing calculations for control valves, relief valves, flow elements, thermowells and other instrumentation
  • Create instrument index and datasheets and generate reports in Hexagon Smart Instrumentation database
  • Develop intermediate complexity control systems narrative specifications
  • Develop basic control systems, cause and effect diagrams, or logic diagrams as required by project
  • Represent control systems and participate in model reviews
  • Develop specifications and design of Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) hardware and software applications; monitor DCS/PLC/SIS design developed by the design group

Requirements

  • Bachelor or equivalent in engineering field
  • More than 10 years of relevant working experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively in Spanish
  • Intermediate knowledge of: Specifying instrumentation, Control systems procurement activities, Piping and Instrumentation Diagram (PID) representation; ability to recognize/report problems associated with control systems representation on PID
  • Knowledge to develop control strategies and represent on PID
  • Advance level of INTOOLS and/or PRODOK
