Research Assistant for the Computational Oncology Group

The Computational Oncology Group at the Spanish National Cancer Centre (CNIO) is seeking a highly skilled research assistant to contribute to the analysis of DNA sequencing data from cancer samples. In this role, you will work closely with the research team to identify different types of chromosomal instability and match them with targeted therapies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse CRISPR editing and single cell low-pass whole genome sequencing data from cell lines and primary tissues to characterise DNA copy number changes.
- Develop and implement computational approaches to identify chromosomal instability signatures and integrate them within the current framework of tumour evolution research.
- Collaborate with the research team to design and execute experiments, and to analyse and interpret results.
- Contribute to the preparation of manuscripts and presentations for publication and presentation at scientific conferences.
Requirements:
- MSc in Applied Genomics or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of research experience in an academic setting.
- Proven expertise in bioinformatics, particularly in cancer genomics and tumour evolution.
- Experience with Linux, R programming, and high-performance computing clusters (HPC).
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
