Role Overview:

We are seeking a Category Manager to develop strategic categories across EMEA, as part of a centralized strategy to coordinate and implement programs that drive consistency and leverage Greif's buying power and scale.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Primary owner of the relationship with strategic suppliers for targeted scope of spend and regional responsibility.
  • Negotiates terms and conditions with suppliers during formal sourcing engagements, mid-contract discussions, and spot opportunity evaluations.
  • Works cross-functionally with key business unit stakeholders to drive and execute sourcing strategies based on business requirements and market conditions.
  • Measures and tracks internal performance for responsible spend, including monthly and quarterly presentations of designated key performance indicators (KPIs) and Metrics.
  • Supports Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) program, assists in evaluating and driving the supplier performance or the qualification process of new suppliers.
  • Proactively communicates with suppliers to prevent and resolve quality issues.
  • Develops and implements ideas to reduce costs, optimize TCO, and performance.

Requirements:

  • Able to demonstrate significant category management and sourcing experience, through the seven steps principal.
  • Experience with the commodity market would be an advantage.
  • An expert with Excel to undertake data analysis and data manipulation to generate reports.
  • Willingness to learn about our business and grow or develop further.
  • Able to demonstrate agility in adapting to business changes.
  • Able to influence others as part of experience in change management.
