We're looking for a talented Animator to join our team at Maxis, the creators of The Sims. As a key member of our animation team, you will be responsible for creating high-quality keyframe animations that bring our Sims to life.

As an Animator, you will work closely with our animation lead and director to develop and implement animation state machines, design assets, and collaborate with other disciplines to solve implementation challenges.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Creating high-quality keyframe animations with a focus on full body character acting
  • Collaborating with other essential contributors to fulfill design goals
  • Designing assets and state machines using our proprietary engine
  • Presenting implementation strategies and working with other disciplines to solve game bugs
  • Maintaining and tracking animation assets
  • Creating technical documentation and sharing knowledge across the animation team

Requirements include:

  • Experience as a gameplay animator contributing to all phases of game production on a AAA title
  • Proficient in creating full body keyframe animation with a primary emphasis on full body character performance in Maya
  • Proficient technical comprehension in relation to designing and implementing animation state machines in a game engine such as Unity, Unreal or similar
  • Adaptable to new animation styles, in-game animation production tools, workflows, and pipelines
  • Effective collaborator able to work across diverse groups to find creative solutions
