Position: Postdoctoral Researcher on MPI Acceleration

About BSC

The Barcelona Supercomputing Center - Centro Nacional de Supercomputación (BSC-CNS) is a leading supercomputing center in Spain, housing MareNostrum, one of the most powerful supercomputers in Europe. As the hosting entity for EuroHPC JU, the Joint Undertaking that leads large-scale investments and HPC provision in Europe, BSC combines HPC service provision and RD into both computer and computational science under one roof.

Context and Mission

The Accelerators and Communications for HPC team leads cutting-edge research and development around accelerators/coprocessors in HPC. We are involved in low-level networking and MPI research, collaborating directly with leading vendors such as Mellanox, NVIDIA, and Intel.

Key Duties and Requirements
  • Drive research on MPI acceleration.
  • Education: PhD in CS-related field
  • Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience: Very good level of C programming
  • Competences: Very good level of English (written and spoken), Technical document writing, including formal papers
Conditions

The position will be located at BSC within the Computer Sciences Department. We offer a full-time contract (37.5h/week), a good working environment, flexible working hours, extensive training plan, restaurant tickets, private health insurance, and support to the relocation procedures.

Duration and Holidays

Open-ended contract due to technical and scientific activities linked to the project and budget duration. 23 paid vacation days plus 24th and 31st of December per our collective agreement.

Salary and Starting Date

We offer a competitive salary commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the candidate. Starting date: Nov. 16.
