We are seeking a visionary and experienced leader to drive our data science, machine learning, and research efforts at Appodeal. As the Head of Data Science and Research, you will be responsible for developing and executing a strategic vision that aligns with our business objectives, building and leading a high-performing team, and ensuring that our products and services are backed by cutting-edge research and advanced analytics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Execute a Strategic Vision: Define and implement a comprehensive strategy for data science, machine learning, and research that drives business growth and innovation.
  • Lead a High-Performing Team: Build, lead, and mentor a team of data scientists, machine learning engineers, researchers, and analysts, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Drive Innovation and Research: Oversee the design, development, and deployment of advanced machine learning models and algorithms to solve complex business problems, and stay abreast of the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with product, engineering, and business teams to integrate scientific insights into product development and business strategies, and drive the publication of research findings and white papers.
  • Develop Partnerships: Establish partnerships with academic institutions, research organizations, and industry experts to stay at the forefront of scientific innovation and drive business growth.
  • Present Scientific Findings: Present scientific findings and insights to senior leadership and stakeholders, providing actionable recommendations.

Qualifications:

  • PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in data science, research, or a related role, with a proven track record of leading scientific initiatives at a senior level.
  • Strong expertise in machine learning, artificial intelligence, and statistical modeling.
  • Experience with big data technologies, cloud platforms, and data engineering.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex scientific concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Proven ability to drive innovation and apply scientific research to solve real-world business problems.
  • Knowledge of the AdTech industry and advertising technologies is highly desirable.
  • Experience with regulatory compliance related to data protection and privacy.
  • Based in Barcelona or ready to relocate to Barcelona.
  • Work in the office for the first months, then we will be able to consider a hybrid format of work.
