Research FocusThe successful candidate will be involved in the analysis of data from the Cherenkov Telescope Array (CTA), a next-generation observatory for gamma-ray astronomy. You will work on the development of new analysis software and contribute to the scientific exploitation of CTA data.
Responsibilities- Conduct research in astroparticle physics, focusing on gamma-ray astronomy and the analysis of CTA data.
- Develop and maintain analysis software for the CTA collaboration.
- Contribute to the scientific exploitation of CTA data, including the development of new analysis techniques and the publication of research results.
- Collaborate with other researchers in the Gamma-Ray Group and the broader CTA community.
To be eligible for this position, you must be enrolled or admitted to a doctoral program at a Spanish university for the 2024/2025 academic year or hold a degree that allows admission to the official doctoral program on the date the contract is formalized.
What We OfferThe successful candidate will enjoy a predoctoral grant as part of the predoctoral actions integrated into the framework of Proyectos de Generación de Conocimiento 2022, funded by the Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación, Agencia Estatal de Investigación, FEDER, and FSE (project PID NB-C41). The program covers the pre-doctoral contract for a period of up to 36 months to carry out the thesis.
How to ApplyInterested candidates should submit their application to the IFAE Human Resources department with the reference IFAE2024/27_PREDOC_GAMMA. The application should include a CV, university and master scores, a letter of motivation, and two reference letters.
