Role Overview: As a Senior Manager of Government Affairs and Policy at Bristol Myers Squibb, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to shape healthcare policies and regulations in favor of the company's interests. This involves building relationships with government officials, policymakers, and stakeholders, and aligning strategies with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the Government Affairs strategy for BMS in Spain.
  • Monitor key policy issues and legislation affecting BMS.
  • Conduct pharma-political horizon scanning to identify challenges and opportunities.
  • Build alliances and networks to support evidence-based policy approaches.
  • Align with internal business leaders and cross-functional teams (Public Affairs, Medical, Regulatory, Finance).
  • Collaborate with the WW Government Affairs team.
  • Prepare internal reports on policy and government affairs issues.
  • Support the Market Access & Government Affairs Director with strategic analysis.
  • Present evidence-based proposals to policy audiences.
  • Coordinate with the international Market Access Team.

Requirements:
  • Strategic thinking, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage complexity and diversity in the Spanish political and regulatory environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective project management and organizational skills.
  • Advanced computer literacy (Microsoft Office suite and project management tools).
  • In-depth understanding of national and regional healthcare regulations.
  • Work Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience with national governments and institutions.
  • Experience in healthcare policy, oncology, hematology, cardiovascular, or immunoscience is a plus.
  • Experience in stakeholder mapping and action planning.
  • Knowledge: Education in life sciences, health economics, political sciences, or law.
  • Understanding of healthcare systems and funding policies in Spain and Portugal.
  • Knowledge of the Spanish policy landscape and healthcare dimensions.
