We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Sustainability Specialist to join our team at Hitachi Energy Italy S.P.A. in the role of Environmental Specialist. As a key member of our Global Sustainability and HSE function, you will play a critical role in driving our environmental sustainability program and contributing to our company's sustainability goals.
Key Responsibilities- Closely collaborate with cross-functional teams to set organizational targets and develop, share, and deploy environmental programs, initiatives, and best practices.
- Develop and maintain tools and techniques to support the environmental sustainability agenda, including quantification of economic and environmental risks and opportunities.
- Consolidate and report on progress towards environmental targets and environmental data to Corporate.
- Understand business needs regarding the environment and develop materials, tools, documents, processes, and trainings to support and enable the business to improve its environmental impacts.
- Engage, educate, and support all stakeholders and functions to drive their environmental goals.
- Lead and guide factory teams to identify, plan, and implement environmental improvement projects to achieve our environmental goals.
- Quantify the environmental impact of operations with a value chain mindset, building on existing industry standards, guidelines, and data.
- Identify hotspots and evaluate the impact of innovations and improvements.
- Stay informed about changes in environmental legislation and adapt programs accordingly.
- Support the business in environment-related needs, including tenders, qualifications, internal improvement projects, and ensure compliance to environmental incident reporting, investigation, and analysis program.
- Support in development and maintenance of environmental management tools and mapping and managing integration of environmental data from different sources.
- Degree in Environmental Engineering, Business, Engineering, or other sustainability-related field.
- Knowledge of main carbon reporting and environmental reporting frameworks.
- Experience/interest in environmental quantification, planning, reporting, and management.
- Data savviness and a quantitative mind.
- Proactive attitude towards collaboration and communication.
- Ability to influence and guide stakeholders and deduce suitable actions from an overall strategy.
- Ability to deal with complexity and variable workload.
- Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and effectively.
- Independent and organized way of working.
- Experience in complex projects; experience in the energy sector would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Fluent in English; any additional language is a plus.
