Head Gardener

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Gardener to join our team at a private estate in the Balearics. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading our garden team and ensuring the highest standards of garden maintenance and development.

• Develop and implement a comprehensive garden plan, working closely with the estate owner to achieve their vision.
• Manage and maintain the estate's gardens, including lawns, orchards, wild gardens, and forestry.
• Supervise and mentor a team of gardeners, providing guidance and support to ensure excellent garden maintenance and development.
• Ensure the estate's gardens are presented and maintained to the highest standards, meeting the expectations of the estate owner.
• Collaborate with the estate owner to design and implement new garden features and renovations.
• Manage the estate's garden equipment and resources, ensuring efficient use and maintenance.

• Relevant horticulture qualifications (NCH, HND, OND, City & Guilds etc.) in Horticulture, RHS Level 3 or similar standard.
• Excellent horticultural knowledge and experience in garden management.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
• Methodical planning and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage resources effectively.
• Confident communication skills, with the ability to interact with individuals from a range of backgrounds.
• Keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to work.
• Full clean driving license.

• Salary based on experience (£30k to £35k), 25 days holiday.
• Single person live-in accommodation on the estate.
