The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled Engineering Manager to join our team in Spain. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading by example, coaching and mentoring others, and helping to define professional goals and develop strategies to achieve them.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead by example and demonstrate technical expertise in object-oriented programming (Java) and eCommerce platform development.
- Coach and mentor others, both inside and outside your team, to help them develop their skills and achieve their goals.
- Help people define their professional goals and put in place what they need to achieve them.
- Be an ambassador of good practices and team culture, promoting a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
- Coordinate with other Engineering Managers to develop a common technical strategy across the product.
- Keep up to date with relevant technology areas and develop platform-related services and integrations to evolve our platform.
- Follow Agile values and principles, breaking product development work into small increments to add value sooner.
- Be data-driven, using metrics to guide development and validate new functionalities.
Requirements
- Academic background in Computer Science or similar.
- Experience demonstrated in people management.
- Extensive experience with object-oriented programming (Java).
- Proven experience developing transactional, high-volume eCommerce, hosted web applications.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
- Complex problem-solving ability.
- Innovative and creative thinking.
- Strong SQL knowledge.
