Job Overview

The Clinical Contract Specialist will oversee the execution of clinical contracts to ensure consistency and quality, while identifying and resolving issues that may delay negotiation and execution. This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Project Managers, Regulatory Specialists, and Site Budgets, to deliver timely contract negotiation and budgeting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the lead for clinical contracts in assigned countries and regions, participating in kick-off meetings and sponsor calls to provide procedural and legal guidance.
  • Prepare forecasts of intermediate steps and oversee execution to achieve contractual milestones.
  • Manage Contracts Specialists, ensuring they have access to relevant systems and are included in study-specific initiatives.
  • Create study-specific contract templates within assigned countries, either by drafting or collaborating with Specialists.
  • Develop cohesive contract negotiation guidelines and parameters with Project Managers and Sponsors.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Grants Administration, and local Experts to develop country-specific site budget templates and negotiation benchmarks.
  • Forecast accurate site contract execution dates and communicate timelines to stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field; advanced degree preferred, with a legal education background an asset.
  • Minimum three years of contracts experience, preferably in a CRO or pharma setting, with excellent understanding of contracting principles.
  • Proficient in general and regionally-specific contract fundamentals, with ability to handle multiple tasks under deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and analytical capabilities, with sound judgment and problem-solving skills.
