Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Professional to join our team as a VAT and Compliance Expert. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing complex VAT/ESL/Intrastat reports for established and foreign VAT registered Celanese legal entities in the EMEA region.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of complex VAT/ESL/Intrastat reports for established and foreign VAT registered Celanese legal entities in the EMEA region.
  • Review of less complex VAT/ESL/Intrastat reports for established and foreign VAT registered Celanese legal entities in the EMEA region.
  • Preparation and monitoring of payment instructions requests.
  • Support reconciliation of annual VAT returns and correction returns.
  • Support quarterly VAT GL accounts reconciliation (domestic LE/foreign VAT registrations).
  • Instructing GL, AP, AR, CS, and IT teams on relevant tax codes to apply.
  • Participating and supporting in Tax Audits conducted by Authorities in the EMEA region.
  • Supporting GL with year-end audits, data collection, and GL relevant items.
  • Monitoring VAT receivables/payables with tax authorities, GL VAT accounts.
  • Supporting other business functions (GL, AP, AR, CS, IT) in ad-hoc requests.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in VAT area.
  • Strong knowledge in SAP, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong planning, problem-solving, and follow-up skills, proactive mindset.
  • Strong interaction ability with all levels/functions.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English. Additional language is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently.
