About the Role

AECOM is seeking a highly skilled Junior GIS Specialist to join our Madrid office, where you will play a key role in delivering GIS work as part of environmental and engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the GIS element of major projects in a multi-disciplinary environment, working closely with internal Project Managers and technical leads.
  • Perform multiple tasks concurrently within strict timeframes, ensuring quality standards on project deliverables.
  • Produce maps and drawings, implementing GIS Standards and best practices.
  • Provide support on spatial data management, designing and managing geodatabases.
  • Carry out geoprocessing and analysis tasks, potentially coordinating GIS work with other colleagues.
  • Actively support developing digital tools applied to environmental and engineering services.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in GIS/Geospatial services, Geography, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • High English and Spanish language proficiency (spoken and written).
  • Full professional competence in GIS, including data compilation, database management, and spatial analysis.
Desirable Skills
  • Database knowledge, including ArcGIS for Server, EQuIS, MS Access, and SQL Server.
  • Prior experience with web-based GIS services and open-source GIS solutions.
  • Ability to work with CAD and BIM/GIS interfaces, as well as basic programming skills.
